Dive into the wonderful world of falconry surrounded by hundreds of acres of unspoiled Dorset countryside. This falconry experience offers an incredible insight into birds of prey, and is also an opportunity to explore one of the most sensational areas of the country. Begin by meeting a falconry expert for an introductory talk and a tour of the centre – and meet some of the centre’s resident birds, each with a unique personality. Learn lots of essential falconry techniques and interesting facts under the wing of a tutor before sitting down to a tasty lunch. Finally, put those newfound skills to the test by flying Harris hawks, falcons, owls and eagles to the glove, watching them elegantly soar through the sky – absolutely priceless and amazing!
Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding the Chirstmas and New Year period.
Please call the venue for a weather check the day before setting out. If the experience is cancelled because of bad weather it can be re-booked for an alternative date.
Lasts around five hours, including time for lunch and refreshments.
Share the experience with three others, plus a qualified falconer.
Spectators must pay to come and watch it costs £30 for a full and £20 for the half day per person, this cost includes lunch and can be paid on the day. Dogs are not permitted.
Dress for the outdoors with wellies or walking boots. Bring a change of clothes if the weather is very bad, as most of the day is spent outside. A camera or a pair of binoculars are recommended.
Minimum age is 14 (children under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult). Reasonable fitness is required as the day involves a fair amount of walking, often over uneven ground.
