Smokehouse Tour for Two at H. Forman & Son
A wonderful Experience located in Stratford, London.
H. Forman and Son in East London is a famous smokehouse set up in 1905 which still runs in the family today. Voted the Best Unusual or Unique Venue at the London Venue Awards in 2015, it makes the perfect spot to tour for those with a love of smoked salmon. Start off by learning the processes that go in to producing the finest smoked Scottish salmon. At Forman’s on-site restaurant sit down and share a delicious smoked salmon platter whilst enjoying amazing views of the Olympic Stadium. Listen to a talk on the history of the smokehouse, receive a carving demonstration from Guinness World Record-holder Darren Matson and tour the gallery. Take home a packet of smoked salmon each to enjoy and feel free to purchase other salmon goodies.
The tour runs at least six times a year, usually once every two months on either a Friday or Saturday.
The tour starts at 11am and finishes at 2pm and lasts for around three hours.
The tour can accommodate up to 50 people at one time.
The smokehouse is cold so warm clothes with long sleeves are recommended, along with closed toe shoes and no high heels (as there are steps down to the smokehouse). Compulsory safety wear is provided on arrival.
Minimum age 16. Wheelchair users can be accommodated, please specify requirements at point of booking. All participants must sign a disclaimer form on the day.
The delights of Forman’s Fish Island venue and the on-site restaurant can be enjoyed from Thursday to Sunday evenings. Visit the on-site art gallery, have a drink and take in views from the roof terrace.
