Smokehouse Tour at H. Forman & Son
We really like this Supercar Driving Experience within easy reach of Stratford, London.
Tour H. Forman and Son’s famous East London smokehouse set up in 1905 and still in the family today, it was voted the Best Unusual or Unique Venue at the London Venue Awards in 2015. Start the tour by learning the processes that go in to producing the finest smoked Scottish salmon. Next, take a seat in the Forman’s on-site restaurant, take in amazing views of the Olympic Stadium and enjoy a smoked salmon platter to share. Listen to a fascinating talk on the history of the smokehouse, as well as receiving a carving demonstration from Guinness World Record-holder Darren Matson and also tour the gallery. Take home a packet of smoked salmon to enjoy and feel free to purchase other salmon goodies before leaving.
The tour runs at least six times a year, usually once every two months on either a Friday or Saturday.
The tour starts at 11am and finishes at 2pm and lasts for around three hours.
The tour can accommodate up to 50 people at one time.
The smokehouse is cold so warm clothes with long sleeves are recommended, along with closed toe shoes and no high heels (as there are steps down to the smokehouse). Compulsory safety wear is provided on arrival.
Minimum age 16. Wheelchair users can be accommodated, please specify requirements at point of booking. All participants must sign a disclaimer form on the day.
The delights of Forman’s Fish Island venue and the on-site restaurant can be enjoyed from Thursday to Sunday evenings. Visit the on-site art gallery, have a drink and take in views from the roof terrace.
