On this experience you’ll get to spend an evening in the company of owls. Your experience starts outside, where your falconer runs through what you can expect from the evening. Then you’ll go on a tour of the owl wood, where you’ll see your first owls in their aviaries, and hear them start their spooky evening calls. Back at the centre enjoy some light refreshments, before getting up close and personal with these magnificent birds. You’ll handle a number of different species, learning all about them and having some great photo opportunities. Then watch a fantastic owl flying display before ending with a question and answer session.

Selected Saturday evenings from mid February to mid October.

The weather should not affect this experience.

How long does the experience last?

Lasts for approximately three hours.

How many other people?

You will share your experience with a maximum of 18 others, plus your guide.

Can I take people to watch?

Sorry, but due to the specialised nature of the experience, spectators can’t be accommodated. Dogs are strictly not permitted.

What do I wear?

Dress for the outdoors, with wellingtons or walking boots and a warm coat in winter. If you have a camera and/or a pair of binoculars please bring them along.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age is 12 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Due to the amount of walking involved, over some dark and uneven ground, you need to be reasonably physically fit. Novices are welcome.

Anything Else?

Amongst the many species at Cotswold Falconry Centre are eagle owls, great horned owls, barn owls and snowy owls. The species of owl you handle can’t be guaranteed in advance – but they are all fantastic.
