Based in the historic city of Oxford, this full day photography course is perfect for anyone who wants to get to grips with their DSLR camera. Great for total novices or those with a little knowledge, this hands-on course is led by experienced working photographers and covers all the essential aspects of digital photography. During the day, learn about exposure control, shutter speed, ISO and white balance, aperture and the principles of creative composition. At the end of the course, take home a certificate of participation, handy course notes and a huge sense of achievement.


A Saturday or Sunday date at least four times a year.


The course may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice or severe rain). Please call the venue if in any doubt.

How long does the experience last?

The experience starts at 9.30am and finishes at approximately 4.30pm, including a break for lunch (not provided).

How many other people?

A maximum of 12 participants share the day.

Can I take people to watch?

This experience is not appropriate for spectators.

What do I wear?

The experience begins indoors but much of it takes place outside, so please dress appropriately with suitable footwear.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age 16. Participants don’t need any previous photography experience, but must have a digital SLR camera.

Lunch is not provided, so please bring it with you. The course trainers are all hand-picked working photographers who share a passion for photography.
