Get snappy with this fun and practical digital photography course in the historic Scottish city of Edinburgh. Learn how to proficiently operate a DSLR camera and take stunning, creative shots under the helpful guidance of experienced working photographers. During the day, learn the rules of creative composition in addition to a host of DSLR camera skills including, shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance and exposure control. At the end of the day, leave with the confidence to take an array of magnificent snaps as well as handy course notes and a certificate of participation.


A Saturday or Sunday date at least four times a year.


The course may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice or severe rain). Please call the venue if in any doubt.

How long does the experience last?

The experience starts at 9.30am and finishes at approximately 4.30pm, including a break for lunch (not provided).

How many other people?

A maximum of 12 participants share the day.

Can I take people to watch?

This experience is not appropriate for spectators.

What do I wear?

The experience begins indoors but much of it takes place outside, so please dress appropriately with suitable footwear.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age 16. Participants don’t need any previous photography experience, but must have a digital SLR camera.

Lunch is not provided, so please bring it with you. The course trainers are all hand-picked working photographers who share a passion for photography.
