Ideal for DLSR amateurs or those with some previous experience, this photography course is a great way to get the most from your digital camera. Learn the essentials of digital photography from experienced tutors and gain the confidence to take great snaps that are sure to add a personal touch to any photo album. The course covers aspects such as ISO and white balance, shutter speeds, exposure control and aperture, in addition to a creative session on the rules of photographic composition. To conclude, leave with a host of new skills, comprehensive course notes and a certificate as a special memento of the day.


A Saturday or Sunday date at least four times a year.


The course may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice or severe rain). Please call the venue if in any doubt.

How long does the experience last?

The experience starts at 9.30am and finishes at approximately 4.30pm, including a break for lunch (not provided).

How many other people?

A maximum of 12 participants share the day.

Can I take people to watch?

This experience is not appropriate for spectators.

What do I wear?

The experience begins indoors but much of it takes place outside, so please dress appropriately with suitable footwear.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age 16. Participants don’t need any previous photography experience, but must have a digital SLR camera.

Lunch is not provided, so please bring it with you. The course trainers are all hand-picked working photographers who share a passion for photography.
