Cowboy Trail Riding Adventure
A nice little Football Experience near New Milton, Hampshire.
Discover your inner cowboy or cowgirl on this great trail ride in the New Forest, England’s answer to the Wild West (more trees, not so many cacti). You’ll be riding a beautiful Western Paint horse, western-style – this style of riding is easier to learn and feels more secure than riding English-style, so it’s great even for beginners. And those cowboys had to spend all day in the saddle, so they made darn sure it was comfortable! The stresses of everyday life will drift away as you head off on a two-hour trail through beautiful countryside, led by experienced wranglers. Back at the ranch, enjoy a barbecue meal and plenty of hot coffee. Rawhide!
Mainly Saturday mornings, at least once a month between April and October.
This experience won’t be cancelled due to bad weather – if it’s raining you’re going to get wet!
Can last up to two to three hours (depending on group size on the day). Please aim to arrive early; traffic congestion at Lyndhurst can add considerable time to weekend or holiday journeys.
There will be a maximum of 12 people riding.
Spectators must be booked and paid for a minimum of three days in advance, direct with the venue, at £12.50 per person to include the barbecue meal. Please note that they can wave you off but they won’t be able to see most of the riding.
Dress for the weather. Bring a long-sleeved top and wear long trousers and sturdy boots or shoes with a small heel (no trainers or flat shoes). If you have a riding hat please bring it along; if not, one will be provided.
Minimum age 12. Minimum height 5′. Max weight 15 stone. Not suitable for pregnant women or anyone with visual or hearing impairments. Epileptics need a medical declaration signed by their doctor. Any other disabilities must be declared prior to booking.
All western trails are mixed ability and are conducted at a gentle pace, walk and trot only. Complete beginners welcome. Sorry, but cameras can’t be taken on the ride.
