Bread is a British staple and for those who reject the mass-produced ready sliced loaf, nothing beats this bread making course at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage HQ – as seen on TV. Begin in true River Cottage style with a tractor ride to the cookery school and get to know your tutor over tea, coffee and tasty treats. Spend the rest of the day learning priceless bread making skills by taking part in a series of practical sessions and demonstrations. Sample a host of dazzling breads while getting to grips with techniques such as kneading, shaping loaves, creating focaccia, making homemade wood-fired pizza and more. During the course, enjoy a deliciously rustic lunch in the River Cottage kitchen, including your own homemade pizza – foodie heaven!

The cookery course starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm. Arrive by 9.20am in time to take a tractor down to the farm.
Share the course with up to 19 other keen foodies, plus a professional River Cottage chef.
Minimum age is 12 (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over). There are disabled facilities but this working farm has some difficult to negotiate areas (please check when booking).
River Cottage is a licensed venue and offers a wide selection of organic wines for sale on the day.
