Tandem Skydiving in Yorkshire
We really like this Experience in Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Experience the utter thrill of tandem skydiving, beginning with training before being fitted into a harness and jumpsuit. Once securely attached to the instructor, take off in the plane and climb to around 10,000 feet. The climb takes around 20 minutes, plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery – if your nerves will allow! Then, once at altitude, it’s time to jump. Feel the rush as you freefall at speeds of up 120 mph, covering 5,000 feet in around 30 seconds. Then, the instructor opens the parachute and you’ll spend a few minutes floating gently back to earth. If the conditions allow, you can even steer the parachute for a while, before your instructor takes over for the landing. Adrenaline rushes really do not come much better than this.
Weekends throughout the year, excluding December and January. Also Fridays from April to September.
The jump itself is subject to weather conditions. Any cancellations are always made with safety in mind.
Expect to be at the centre for the whole day, which includes a briefing and training session and approximately 35 minutes in the aircraft (including the skydive itself).
Training may be shared, but the jump is held on a one-to-one basis with a fully qualified tandem skydive instructor.
Spectators are welcome and there are facilities on-site for refreshments. A camera and binoculars come in handy. The clubhouse and spectator area are wheelchair friendly.
Dress warmly and comfortably and wear trainers, not hard boots. A jump suit and all other equipment is provided.
Maximum weight 15.5 stone fully clothed. Minimum age is 16. All jumpers are required to complete a health and safety form to confirm they are fit and able to jump.
Includes one year provisional membership of the British Parachute Association (BPA). DVDs and digital photos are available to buy on the day.
