Piaggio Ape Racing For Two
A fun Experience located in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
Want to try something a bit different? How about racing an Italian Piaggio Ape around an outdoor circuit? Exclusive to Red Letter Days and as seen in Top Gear magazine, this is a rip-roaring crazy thrill ride. Begin with an introduction on how to drive this three wheeled Italian stallion, before being split into teams of two and driving 20 minutes of practise laps to determine qualifying positions. When it’s time to begin, sprint across the track, get in the right Ape, start the engine and go in true Le Mans style. During the 40 minute race, work out strategy within your team, with pit stops to change drivers. At the end the top three teams get trophies and each team takes home their time sheet. Have you got what it takes?
Runs on weekends and weekdays, at least one date every two months throughout the year.
Racing might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice, heavy rain or high winds) which would make driving at speed dangerous.
Lasts around two hours, with a total of one hour on the track (including 30 minutes of hands-on driving time per driver).
They’ll be just the two of you in your team and up to ten teams of two race on the day.
Unlimited numbers of spectators can cheer you on and are welcome to make use of the cafe and clubhouse facilities on-site.
Racing suits and helmets are provided. Wear flat shoes. Scarves cannot be worn when driving.
