This junior indoor body flying session is the perfect alternative for those wishing to experience the unique sensation of skydiving but find the thought of jumping from a plane daunting. Begin with a detailed briefing before receiving all the necessary equipment and helpful hints to ensure you get the most from the experience. Step into the tunnel together with the instructor and be lifted into the air for two 60 second sessions (as a comparison, during a skydive from 10,000 feet you would experience around 30 seconds of freefall). End the session with a debrief, feet back on solid ground.

Availability

Weekdays from 3pm – 5.30pm during term time and school summer holidays. Not available during bank holidays, Easter, Christmas or half term holidays.

Weather

The tunnel is indoors and isn’t affected by the weather.

How long does the experience last?

Expect to be on-site for around one and a half hours, including a 20 minute safety briefing, kit issue (15 minutes), two 60 second body flying sessions (each) and a full debrief.

How many other people?

Training may be shared in a group of up to 12. All flights are held on a one-to-one basis in the wind tunnel with a fully qualified instructor – you won’t jump together, but will watch each other’s flights from the gallery.

Can I take people to watch?

Facilities are excellent and make for a good family outing. Spectators can watch the action from the free viewing gallery.

What do I wear?

No jewellery or collared shirts. Please wear tight-fitting lace-up trainers (not boots). If suitable footwear isn’t worn, it is compulsory to hire trainers from the venue. Jumpsuits and other equipment are provided. Lockers £1.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age is four, maximum age is 16. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum weight 18 stone. Anyone who’s reasonably fit, can fly. If you’re pregnant, have heart, back or neck problems or have ever dislocated a shoulder, you can’t fly.

Anything Else?

It is vital to arrive no later than the allocated time on the booking letter. Actual flights occur up to one hour after the allocated booked time to allow for an essential safety briefing before stepping into the tunnel.
