Get creative with this fun and informative photography day. This course is ideal for complete beginners and those with some understanding of digital photography. Even if you are using some manual controls on your DSLR camera but aren’t confident with the principals, this course is perfect. Very hands-on without all the fluffy technical jargon, you’ll gain sound knowledge and a feeling of confidence. The day includes sessions in aperture, shutter speeds, exposure control, ISO and white balance, and the rules of composition to creatively improve your photography. By the end of the day, you’ll be doing things with your camera you didn’t think possible! You’ll also receive detailed course notes and a certificate of participation.


A Saturday or Sunday date at least four times a year.


The course may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice or severe rain). Please call the venue if in any doubt.

How long does the experience last?

The experience starts at 9.30am and finishes at approximately 4.30pm, including a break for lunch (not provided).

How many other people?

A maximum of 12 participants share the day.

Can I take people to watch?

This experience is not appropriate for spectators.

What do I wear?

The experience begins indoors but much of it takes place outside, so please dress appropriately with suitable footwear.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age 16. Participants don’t need any previous photography experience, but must have a digital SLR camera.

Anything Else?

Lunch is not provided, so please bring it with you. The course trainers are all hand-picked working photographers who share a passion for photography.
