Sometimes DSLR cameras can be a little daunting, but this full day introduction to photography held in Manchester is here to help. Learn how to get creative with the camera and compose great shots as well as learning a whole host of DSLR photography skills including aperture, shutter speeds, exposure control and ISO and white balance. Led by professional working photographers, this course takes a practical approach to learning and is set in a fun and relaxed environment. At the end of the day, take home helpful course notes and a certificate of participation.


A Saturday or Sunday date at least four times a year.


The course may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice or severe rain). Please call the venue if in any doubt.

How long does the experience last?

The experience starts at 9.30am and finishes at approximately 4.30pm, including a break for lunch (not provided).

How many other people?

A maximum of 12 participants share the day.

Can I take people to watch?

This experience is not appropriate for spectators.

What do I wear?

The experience begins indoors but much of it takes place outside, so please dress appropriately with suitable footwear.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age 16. Participants don’t need any previous photography experience, but must have a digital SLR camera.

Anything Else?

Lunch is not provided, so please bring it with you. The course trainers are all hand-picked working photographers who share a passion for photography.
