See the world from a bird’s-eye view in a lightweight microlight. This extended flight is an exhilarating experience and a great gift for those who have their head in the clouds. After a thorough safety briefing from an experienced instructor, board the aircraft and take towards the sky in the dual controlled, flex wing microlight. The light frame, based on that of a hang glider, is capable of impressive speed and manoeuvrability and the instructor might even let you take the controls so it can be experienced first-hand. For any budding pilots, the flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence.

Seven days a week all year round, subject to availability. Excludes Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Any cancellations due to weather will be re-booked. On the day of the flight, it is ESSENTIAL to call the dedicated weather line (the automated message is updated daily at 7am) on 01909 259 059 (choose option 3) to confirm go ahead.

How long does the experience last?

The flight will last for approximately one hour, but please allow for longer at the venue.

How many other people?

The briefing might be shared, but the flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified microlight flight instructor.

Can I take people to watch?

Spectators are welcome to come along and watch take off and land. A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy.

What do I wear?

Most microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. Wear sensible shoes (no heels) and gloves. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.

Are there any restrictions?

Max fully-clothed weight 15 stone. Min age 16 and under 18’s must be accompanied by a guardian who’ll be required to sign a disclaimer. Reasonable physical fitness is required and women in either the first or the last three months of pregnancy can’t fly.

Anything Else?

Flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence, for which 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is needed to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.
