About the screen saver

Image: Badger Trust Screen Saver sample images.

This beautiful badger screen saver has been produced to raise funds for the Badger Trust - so maybe it should be called a 'badger saver'. It features ten fantastic photos, five by Steve Clark of the Gwent Badger Group, and five by Steve Jackson of Brockwatch. Four of the photos can be seen in the animated image here. There is also a 'splash screen' which is displayed when the screen saver starts up, thanking you for supporting the Badger Trust.

Requirements

The screen saver is designed for PCs running Windows. It is not suitable for screens with a resolution smaller than 800 x 600 pixels. If your screen resolution is greater than 1024 x 768, the screen saver images will not fill the whole screen. This should not be a problem with a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024, but with larger screen resolutions the images will appear rather small on the screen.

Downloading

Click on one of the links below. You will be prompted to save the programme (BadgerTrust-1a.exe or BadgerTrust-1b.exe) to your computer. Click on 'OK' and save the file to a place on computer where you will find it (e.g. My Documents).

Badger Trust Screen Saver 1a: for screen resolutions of 800 x 600 or higher. (2.66 Mb)

Badger Trust Screen Saver 1b: for screen resolutions of 1024 x 768 or higher. (3.36 Mb)

Installing

Find the file you have just downloaded to your computer, and double-click on it. A box will appear outlining terms and conditions for use of the screen saver. If you accept them, click on OK, otherwise click Cancel.

Once the screen saver has been sucessfully installed, a box will appear telling you this. Click on OK.

A 'Display Properties' box should now appear. If you wish, you can adjust the number of minutes that your computer should remain idle before it will display the screen saver. Or you can click of the Settings button and adjust some of the screen saver settings (you will also be able to see additional information about the screen saver, and details of how to donate to the Badger Trust). You can also click on the Preview button to see the screen saver in action. Finally, click on the OK button to complete the installation.

Donating

Don't forget, this is donor ware! That means, if you like the screen saver and keep it on your PC, you are asked to make a donation - in this case, to the Badger Trust.

You can donate online through the Badger Trust website or through a special page at Justgiving.

Or you can donate by post. Download, fill and send off a Badger Trust donation form, quoting your debit / credit card number or enclosing a cheque made payable to Badger Trust. The Trust's address is:
