Ideas for action
Opportunities to help the ferret badgers species are limited. However, here are a few ideas for action that you could take:
-
Support the work of organisations which are working to prevent deforestation in south-east Asia.
-
Support the work of organisations which are working to protect and enhance specific wildlife areas in south-east Asia, including National Parks and nature reserves.
-
If you live in, or take a wildlife holiday in, an area where any of the ferret badgers live, watch out for their presence. Report any definite sightings so that a better picture of the distribution of these badgers can be built up. This includes observations of ferret badgers being traded at local markets - such reports indicate that badgers are present in the area, and also help to improve our knowledge of the extent of the trade in these species.
-
Support the work of organisations carrying out surveys of mustelids, mammals or wildlife in general in south-east Asia.
-
If you have any information about ferret badgers, their behaviour, biology, ecology, distribution or conservation, please
pass it on
so that I can incorporate it into these pages and make it available worldwide.
