An unusual Japanese badger

This badger is unusual even by Japanese standards. The body fur is a very pale biscuity colour, almost like that of an albino badger. However this is clearly not an albino, as the eyes are normal, and around each eye there is a very prominent dark patch. This individual, which lives in a Japanese zoo, is also very fat. This is probably a result of too much food and too little exercise.

Contrast the appearance of this Japanese badger with the one in the previous Photo File. You would hardly believe they are the same species, let alone the same subspecies.
