Canyoning in Perthshire
A wonderful Vintage Flying Experience in Kenmore, Perthshire.
Rediscover your sense of adventure – and what it’s like to be soaked to the skin! Canyoning is a truly all-round adventure experience, following a natural water course through a precipitous canyon. To start off with you’ll have a safety briefing with your instructor and get kitted out with the right equipment. Then after a short walk to the top of the beautiful Allt’ a Bhealaich Gorge, you’ll follow the natural water course down through the gorge, descending waterfalls, sliding down natural water flumes, scrambling down gorges and jumping into deep, clear rock pools. In some sections you’ll use harnesses and ropes to get down, all safely controlled by your instructor. No part of the descent is compulsory – you can always take the path instead.
Seven days a week from May to September.
Canyoning will go ahead in most conditions other than high flood water levels.
Lasts for three to four hours. Please arrive early to allow for time to change.
There’ll be up to eight people taking part, plus an experienced instructor.
Spectators are welcome but they’ll need basic agility and fitness to negotiate the rough off road track down the hillside that runs beside the gorge. There’s also a specific viewing area at the point where participants jump down the waterfalls.
Bring extra clothes, swimwear, a towel and a pair of old trainers. Wetsuits and all special equipment are provided. If you wear glasses, either remove them or secure them firmly with elastic.
Minimum age is 12. Under 18’s must be accompanied by participating adult. You don’t need any previous experience but you will need to be reasonably fit.
Basic changing facilities are available, but there are no showers on-site.
