April 5th 2010: Major update to the stink badger pages. It has taken a while, but today I have uploaded a new version of the Badger Pages relating to the stink badgers. Most of the pages covering these odiferous creatures have been extensively re-written with much new material added. In addition there are some new Photo Files.

All the references I have used to complile the stink badger articles can now be found on a single page, which is linked to from all the pages on which reference numbers are quoted. The new page is not easily navigable at present but I hope to change that at some point.

The layout of the stink badger pages has also been changed slightly: they are wider to take account of the fact that most users' screen resolutions are now at least 1024 pixels wide. Users with screen resolutions of 800 pixels wide should find that the main part of the page containing the text and images will remain within the width of their screens.

I do have plans for updates to the Badger Pages covering the other badger species ... if all goes well there won't be another five year wait before the next instalment!

May 21st 2006: New hog badger pages added. The number of Badger Pages devoted to the hog badger has greatly increased today. 9 new Photo Files have been added, and they feature some superb pictures. I am very grateful to all of the photographers and organisations who have given permission for their images to be used here. There is also a new article: Encounters - let sleeping badgers lie. Enjoy!

May 10th 2006: New search engine added. Following yesterday's major update of the Badger Pages (see below), today I have incorporated a search engine into the site. I believe that this search engine is a considerable improvement over the old one in many ways, and I hope that it will make it easier for you to find what you are looking for on the Badger Pages.

May 9th 2006: Major update - please read! Today sees the first major update of the Badger Pages website since 2001. The existing content of the site has been 're-packaged' and presented in a new format. In addition, I have improved the accessibility and cross-browser compatibility of the site, adding new features such as text-only versions of the Badger Pages, and a change to the way the pages are formatted for printing. (NB: for best results, please ensure that your browser is configured to print background images when you print out any of the Badger Pages.) I will continue to tweak and upgrade the layout and functionality of the Badger Pages website over the coming weeks (particularly with regard to accessibility), and will get a new site search engine online as soon as I can.

The 'look and feel' of the Badger Pages, and the way in which the site works, are not the only things which have changed. I have also made many minor (and a few not-so-minor) amendments to the site's content, bringing outdated or inaccurate information up to date. There is still much for me to do however. Over the last 5 years I have accumulated a great deal of extra information about badgers. I have also obtained more photos for use on the site, taken by myself and by others around the world who have kindly agreed that I can use their work on these pages. The new information and images will gradually be worked into the Badger Pages. Over a period of time, several new Photo Files and Articles will be added, while many existing pages will be extensively re-written. Watch this space...
