| Notes: | This web page provided some interesting information about the Indonesian stink badger Mydaus javanensis, including the local names for the species - teledu or sigung. Two passages of particular note are as follows: "Should you find one, it may just stay very still and you can approach quite close. Campers on the summits often report their food being raided by this rather bold creature. Unfortunately, there have been cases of visitors actually beating these animals to death." . . . "The stink badger's hiding place is often betrayed by an unpleasant smell, but this can be misleading: a species of foul-smelling fern, Didymochlaena truncatula, produces a very similar odour, and is called in Indonesian paku sigung (the stink badger fern)."
