| Notes: | This web page listed the honey badger Mellivora capensis as a 'vulnerable mammal'. With reference to the diet of this species, the page stated: "Honey Badgers feed on almost anything they can catch, including scorpions and spiders that they dig from their burrows, lizards, mice, birds, honey and bee larvae, and carrion. They have even been recorded climbing trees in the Kalahari to get at vulture chicks in their nests!". The page is no longer at the URL where I last viewed it ( http://www.infoweb.co.za/enviro/ewtbook/page2.htm ) - either the URL has changed or the page no longer exists. |
