| Notes: | Susan provided the following information regarding her sighting of several Burmese ferret badgers Melogale personata at Cat Tien National Park in 1999: "I saw the ferret-badgers around the headquarters at Cat Tien but didn't see them again when I visited in December last year. I will probably be there again this December so I will have another look for them then. They seemed to be feeding opportunistically on food scraps that are generally just thrown on the ground near the restaurant. They are neither actively discouraged or encouraged but they are definitely there because of human activity. We found them when we set out to go spotlighting but it is not a well known spot for them. The animals we saw were not approachable but at the same time not overly shy; we saw no social behaviour. Although we saw three or four animals we did not see them interacting. They seemed to be behaving autonomously. I will try to get a photo of one next time." |
