A hog badger in Cambodia

Image: Hog badger (Arctonyx collaris).

Comments

This hog badger was photographed with an auto-trigger camera or 'camera trap' in the Samlaut Protected Area, Cambodia near to the Thailand border in 2004. Research and conservation work in this area of evergreen forest is being funded by the Maddox Jolie Pitt Project (established by actress Angelinia Jolie in the name of her adopted Cambodian son Maddox) and WildAid. Camera traps are increasingly being used to record the presence of wild animal species in remote areas, and have 'captured' hog badgers in a number of locations in south-east Asia.
