This is the second of two pictures of a hog badger cub being hand-reared at Metro Toronto Zoo in 1986. The cub is a few weeks older in this photo, and the fur between the eyes and the ears is beginning to darken.

The zoo originally received a pair of adult hog badgers from China (subspecies Arctonyx collaris albogularis) in 1976.
