Everett's ferret badger (mounted specimen)

Image: Everett's ferret badger (Melogale everetti).

Comments

Everett's ferret badger has a very restricted range, occurring only on Mount Kinabalu on the island of Borneo. Little is known about this species, and few photos of the living animal exist. This photo shows a mounted specimen. The specimen is very brown in colour compared with the grey-furred Chinese and Burmese species depicted in the previous Photo Files. However the colouration probably changed after the specimen was mounted. The patterns on its face are similar to those of the other two ferret badgers.
