A Chinese ferret badger caught in a trap

Image: Chinese ferret badger (Melogale moschata).

Comments

The dorsal stripe of this Chinese ferret badger ends at the animal's shoulders - compare this with the stripe running all the way down the back of the Burmese ferret badger in the next Photo File.

Sadly, this particular ferret badger has been caught in a trap. If you look closely at the top of the picture, above the badger's tail, you can see one of the animal's hind feet and the leg-hold trap in which it is held. The source of the photo was unable to provide any further information regarding the circumstances, as the photo was taken some years ago and no records relating to the picture could be found.
