I found this bundle of bedding material at a sett in west Northamptonshire. Amongst the old dry grass, there were several blades of fresh green grass; clear evidence that the bedding had been gathered very recently. At another sett in west Northants I once found several bundles of hay close to a sett entrance; one bundle actually blocked the hole. I concluded that the badgers had just invented the draught excluder...
